Jason,

What a relief. I have just started writing articles and was feeling a little stuffy because I thought it had to be all "formal" ya know?

I would much rather write like I am talking to someone. There's more feeling in it which leads to connections with people. Thanks for taking the weight off my shoulders.

I definitely agree with this post and thank you for the honesty. I personally write articles on a daily basis through my Blogs, Examiner and other sites. I am always looking further than just another article. My best is doing what I enjoy and that is reaching out to others and truly helping them through my articles. I have had my moments of wish wash articles but I know that I have given my all to most of them and hope that it is at least helping one person. That alone makes it worth while. Thanks for the great post!

Hey Patty,

I was actually listening to an interview last night with
Brian Clark / Copyblogger and Ben Settle.

Brian pointed out that the internet is really nothing more than
a crude representation of the real world... and that it's getting more
and more like the real world. Scary actually...

Maybe someday we'll all be plugged in to it like robots or something?

Till then, I think we have to pick our niche and stake our claim while the
pickings are still goo and relatively easy.

Wow, that brings me down to earth. You are so right on.

We take the program, we do the work and we copy our teachers, leaders and coaches. We hate the Niche but, our Loyalty to the original massager has we stuck like glue. Like a magnet we are drawn into their work. We copy; recopy and we think we are cranking out good stuff.

Hopefully some will have a wake up call and start churning out conversations instead of cloned copy from the instructor.

Do you think the online world is becoming like the offline world? We have welfare recipients in all areas, dependent and codependent, how about that internet? No different. Until people decide to become independent they will crank out the bad copy.

I have been that student of cloned material. What makes me different now? I have decided to become independent. Will I succeed? Only time will tell. But I received my wake up call. Thanks Jason, I need to find my perfect niche and study copywriting, not another program.

Blessing on you day, I have a lot of recopy to do and by golly I hope I have a blog some day that someone cares to stay at longer than click on, click off.

I can't believe I missed this one, better late than never to read and comment :).

As far as article marketing, I like to call it a gallery of reusable information? Lol.

When I first started to write articles, I honestly didn't realize everyone would rewrite the same thing over and over. Maybe that is why I have about 15 unfinished articles.

I do get your point on having something unique is what going to really grab a person's attention. I mentioned video marketing your article in my previous comment because most of us do not utilize it and if done correctly can give you massive exposure. Your article from this past Friday is a great follow-up read if you are reading this for the first time.

Once again solid content, thanks for the mention at the end of your entry.

Interesting post Jason ...lol I do nto think it is dead though I will agree it is a waste the way many do it but that is because some lame ebook told them how to do it wrong.

Article Marketing can be powerful if done properly and with quality useful content that you write yourself.

But I also agree building relationships are a must in this business..

Heidi,

You're bringing up a VERY important point.

Nobody has time to read dry, boring, corporate speak.

Mixing your personality and stories in with your writing
is the way to go... especially online,

Don't worry about being formal... most people are way
too uptight. :-)
