Why Network Marketers Are Feeling Overwhelmed…

Lost Network MarketerEver feel a little overwhelmed? It seems like every day there’s some new gadget, website or widget you have to learn about. And there’s no helpline or coach to tell you exactly how to use it. I mean, one day I spent 10 minutes just trying to find a button on one of my favorite websites… and I knew it was there!

Some days You Feel Totally Lost!

So where do you find help when you need it and where can you go for answers to all your technology woes? Well, I have a few ideas, but I would really like to know what you think too. If you have a minute, leave a comment today.

8 Ways To Find Your Way In A Scary Online World

Google It: I was just talking with a close friend and we were reminiscing about encyclopedias and how they were once an important part of our childhood and lives. If you needed an answer… you flipped to the index. Now, we “google it” and get our answers even faster. I think, the power of the internet is lost on some folks. They keep asking questions but never look for the answers… “Google first, ask later” is a good slogan.

Tweet it: Oh my, this is a new twist on the whole Google thing, but I’m really amazed by how well it works if you have clever followers. Some of the best ideas I’ve ever had have come from Twitter… so don’t be afraid to ask a question or two from time to time.

Relax It: I know you’re busy. You don’t have time to sit still and breathe, but if you don’t make time then life will do it for you soon enough. You’ll be crippled by stress, or maybe even a heart attack. And often times the most profitable ideas you’ll ever have will be found on a walk… not in front of a glowing screen.

Book It: Some of my best ideas are sparked by books. And those books aren’t always about network marketing or business. A good novel can really give you a new lease on life. It pumps fresh ideas into your brain. But I’m not above picking up a technical book either. It’s how I learned HTML which helps out a lot with blogging and websites.

Think It: Once upon a time people had to think for themselves and one of the tools of the trade was a pen. If you had a question then you wrote down everything you knew about the subject on paper and came up with a solution or two. It’s amazing what you can come up with if you just ask and answer your own questions.

Sleep It: If all else fails, well, maybe you need a nap or a good night’s rest. If you’re always run down you’ll never get anywhere. It’s like a car spinning tires in mud… there’s no traction.

Phone It.
I’m constantly amazed by how clever my friends are. If I’m really stuck then I’ll e-mail or ask a friend. I hate being a pest, but most are only too willing to help me out. After all, I help them out when I can too. :-)

And a piece of advice ONLY for workaholics…

Turn On The Television: I know this advice might seem a little contrary, because I tend to preach that TV’s are sucking brains out through eyeballs… but some people are workaholics. If that’s you (I know it’s me) then I really think you need to watch more movies and television if you’re stuck in a rut… and I’ll tell you why.

If you don’t switch it on occasionally you’ll lose touch with the average man or woman. You’ll be a boring expert who doesn’t even remember what it’s like to be human. As a leader, it’s easy to forget that you’re the exception and not the rule.

So once a week, I’ll indulge in an hour or two of television like Family Guy or old re-runs of Seinfeld, or Friends. Some of the craziest solutions to problems I’ve had all week will float out of my brain. I don’t know how it works… it just does.

What Do You Do?

How do you solve your problems? Whether it’s taking a long walk or a cold shower I’d like to know. I have a friend who insists that his best ideas come from blasting music into his ears… Another who claims that sweating it out with exercise is the only way to breakthrough stale thoughts.

Do you stand on your head to get fresh ideas, go surfing, or use a magic eight ball? Why not leave a comment today?

See you soon,

Jason The “Better Networker”

Google It, Tweet it, Relax It, Book It, Think It, Sleep It, Phone It, Rinse and Repeat.
That totally could be a song :)
Ps. You gotta watch on Monday nights The Big Bang Theory. It just rocks!

Hey Rebecca,

I’ve caught a few episodes of that one. A friend
lent them to me. But you know, I never seem to
take my own advice! I think that’s the hardest
thing to do.

I watched Kung Fu Panda this past weekend and heard an appropriate quote I’d like share with everyone:

“Your mind is like the water. When it is agitated it becomes difficult to see, but when you let it settle, the answer becomes clear.”

Cheers,
Hani

Well Jason, once again, another Home-Run!

And timely?…Who is your psychic?

Listen, I can’t tell you how many times in the last few months I’ve had a brain overload of information the size of Alaska.

I’ve actually just written two articles which touch on this very topic…I’d love your feedback. One is over at BN and the other is more of a letter to the editor at ‘the whole truth’. This one simply speaks of how helpful so many people in this industry are when it comes to giving out information. This includes you!

Thanks again for your daily dose of knowledge…

Now, I’m off to find out what happened to my unopened products over at Mag-Spons…

Make this the best day of the new week and keep’em coming…You’ll make a great week!

I know how you feel. I have so many new
and old products to study around here
on top of everything that it’s hard to know where
to start.

I’ll be visiting your articles in a jiffy. :-)

Oh Jason, this is a good one. I must say that my ideas come to me after reading or listening to a speaker, and than a light bulb would go off and than I would go into thought mode almost like a trance and write down the ideas. My overwhelming moment happens if someone disturb me while I’m in thought mode.

Oh man, if someone disturbs me in
though mode I can be very grumpy.

I like listening to speakers like Jim Rohn
and Earl Nightingale to get my brain going.
Who do you listen to?

Awsome blog post.

Jason, you always suprise me. But I got to admit also… I do love ‘Family Guy’.

That show is just too hilarious.

I feel this one.

Even sometimes when I am on a date, I will suddenly bring up this boring topic up about marketing and business. =Pp

Oh man! No way. Keep that topic on the
down low when on a date… I’ve scared
away more women talking about marketing
then anything else. lol.

Jason,

Now you’ve got me scratching my head?

Do you have a tap on my telephone too?
No wonder you’re always addressing my issues as I encounter them.

Hey, you’ve got your finger on the pulse over at Magnetic Sponsoring don’t you? What’s up with their site? I went in yesterday and all my products were gone. Now today, I haven’t been able to access the site at all…

Anyway, I’ll keep trying.

I’m ready to jump into my newest purchase, the Writers Guild, if its’ there.

See ya.

[Reply]

Jason Reply:

Hey Mitchell,

Wouldn’t that come in handy?
Nope. I just talk to other marketers
and try to write about what’s on
their mind.

As for magnetic, that must be
something temporary Mitchell.
That sounds really really strange.

If it persists I’d definitely call the
support staff or open a ticket. That
shouldn’t be happening. But who
knows? They might be doing some
upgrades?

Hi Jason,

A timely post for me as well. Its easy to pile on to much pressure and overload yourself, which only leaves you feeling tired and frustrated.

Its good to know I din’t have to feel guilty about watching the occasional episode of Family Guy and having a laugh.

Laughter is the best medicine as they say

Keep up the great articles.

All the best.

Hey Deon!

Long time no see. I’m glad to
see you back again.

You know, I feel guilty every
single time I flick the TV on.

There’s always some little bit
of work to do that I wish I had
done… but quite often my best
ideas come from relaxation and
not a 12 hour work day.

Hey Jason,

I’ve actually got a lot of great answers at the BetterNetworker forums. I ask my question and I get it answered pretty quickly.

Then I sometimes turn the discussion into a blog post, because I figure there are other people asking the same questions.

Derek, I have no idea how I missed
the Better Networker forums. The
people there are so helpful it’s almost
terrifying.

Way to show me up. ;-)

I’ve even turned comments
into blog posts. Awesome idea.

As a workaholic myself I have one more to add to the list.

Spend quality time with your friends and family and put all business on the shelf for a day or two a month.

Subconsciously our work can be affected if in the back of our minds our work is taking us from the things that matter the most. It can cause a real blockage in the ability to flow like the rivers and the streams.

Personally there have been times where I could not flow because there was some blockage I could not locate only to find out after spending some QT with my family and reflecting back on it do I realize that they needed it…

and I did to!
