Trust ‘Machine’ Shows Skeptics You’re Not A Scammer…

MLM-Lead-MachineSometimes it feels like the whole world hates you. You mention your business to friends and family and they shake their heads and give you a pat on the shoulder… if their eyes don’t roll.

You get no respect…

Even when you start to make a little money they don’t seem to believe you. So you begin to doubt yourself or even feel a little sleazy… living down to their expectations.

And then there’s strangers, leads and prospects. They’ll “think it over” or eagerly wait for your “information” so they can throw it in the trash. You get the feeling they’d say anything… to get you off the phone.

Some are pleasant, but those are the worst prospects because they give you false hope and you just wish there was an easier way to earn their trust… to earn their respect.

Building the “trust machine”

Well, I think there is an easier way to earn the trust of today’s skeptics. In my opinion, we should take a lesson from the bloggers. Because people love blogs. They love getting something for nothing. And bloggers give till their hearts bleed. Some even make a living at it.

But the best part of blogging is the credibility you gain. The expertise and respect. It’s almost like people want you to talk to them. Sure, it’s not an overnight thing. It takes time… maybe months… but eventually the tide turns. You inevitably become THE expert. And little-by-little… people seek you out.

If you blog…

You might have a blog of your own. Or you might be interested in starting one. This post will guide the way. Consider this a strategy guide to building a blog that pulls in fresh leads every day and if you’ll forgive the claim… sells for you while you sleep.

And if this is all a review to you, it’s okay. You know, sometimes we all need to remind ourselves why we do what we do… and even one tip can make all the difference.

Blogging for MLM Leads…

So why blog? Well, in case you’ve been living in a cave here’s four great reasons… and this is really just the start.

• Qualified Leads. There’s more than one way to build a list of leads eager to hear what you have to say but blogging is by far one of the easiest even if you’re just starting out online.

• Coffee Cash. I don’t believe this should be your main goal when you set up a blog, but it can be a solid plan. As you probably know, some bloggers are making a full-time living from their blogs and this could prove to be a secondary income stream for you in the future. Just don’t count on it. Like anything worthwhile it takes time.

• Expert Status. It’s all about credibility. When you’re the expert, the leads come to you. You don’t buy them. You don’t bother with lists pulled from the phone book or the next fancy schmancy lead scheme. People actually start to seek you out. This doesn’t happen overnight, but it happens faster than most people think.

• The Trust Factor. People like to do business with people they know, like and trust. Your blog is like a cozy home. You invite people in and they get to know you. It should never be a hard-sell but a lot of businesses have been built on the back of great blogs. It’s almost like building a “trust machine”.

But that’s just the start… you’ll find that having a blog of your own is one of the fastest ways to learn all about internet marketing and selling because you’ll be able to test your approach and measure the results of almost every word you write.

But that of course, is another topic on it’s own.

How long will it take?

You know, if you blog once a week and participate in internet communities like betternetworker.com or even Twitter then you could start to generate leads withing a few weeks if you’re careful. And I think you’ll be surprised by the results you can get in 3 to 6 months.

I hate to make promises, but seriously, if you aren’t making some sort of headway in six months of blogging you must be doing something wrong. It’s pretty much the easiest way to build a following online as long as you keep plugging in fresh content and sharing great tips.

But what are you supposed to post on a blog?

Build Value – The golden rule of blogging is this GIVE VALUE. Content is king and you can build a huge reputation by sharing high-quality content with your list. In the end, you’re only gonna build a loyal following if you give freely.

There’s no real secret here. Sometimes you have to buckle down and do the research. With a universe of free content out there and the demand on your reader’s attention it’s getting to be a tougher game but most bloggers are LAZY. It’s simply not that hard to stand out from the crowd.

Breaking News – There’s a classic bit of advice from an advertising legend, Robert Collier that says: “You must strive to enter the conversation already in your reader’s mind.”

One really easy way to do this is to write timely blog posts based on current events. These can bring in a lot of readers, as long as you remember that they might not be relevant over time.

It’s a choice you’ll have to make.

Opinions – The fact is some people are gonna love you and some are gonna HATE YOU. But you shouldn’t censor yourself. You can’t please everybody on the web and you don’t want to.

You see, the thing is, the internet is impersonal and cold. Faceless corporations are everywhere and people are looking for that little gleam of personality they can trust.

Personality – Look, some people like vanilla ice cream, some people like chocolate ice cream, and some people HATE ICE CREAM altogether. So don’t be a chicken-poop. Get out there and stand for something.

You’ll find that more people will agree with you than won’t.

But How Do You Turn Blogs Into Cash?

BUILDING A LIST – Well, I can’t say there’s a single magic pill that will work for everyone but one tested strategy is to build a list of loyal happy subscribers. You can build your list by offering a free video, interview, or report and market to that list with e-mail or personal recommendations.

Some bloggers make a full-time living by writing reviews and sharing their affiliate links. In your case, this could be as easy as using a funded proposal like Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsering. Or if you have your own product that will work too.

POSTING ADS – Ads are another great source of income but this only works if your blog is getting a significant amount of traffic. When it does, your ad-space can be worth a pretty penny but don’t expect to make a fortune off of Google Ads. This is something that usually takes a load of traffic to do.

CONVERTING LEADS – Perhaps the easiest way to make money blogging especially for MLM’ers is to use your blog as a source of free leads. Capture contact info with a freebie and follow up with e-mail or even a personal call.

You might be surprised by how well this type of approach can work. After all, most of your peers are scared to pick up the phone and it’s as easy as capturing a number and saying “Hello” to your subcribers.

But this works best if you have a small list… you’ll have a hard time following up with the hundreds of leads a moderately successful blog can generate.

Again, you have to weigh this against the reward. Sometimes it’s best to stick to a conventional approach.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS – The important thing to remember here, is to treat your subscribers with the utmost respect. You should always give much more than you take and you should never bombard them with sales pitch after pitch.

If you do, they’ll simply abandon you. Your readers will not put up with abuse. So treat them well.
