8 Things I Love About Blogging
Weeks ago, I wrote an article called “Seven Things I Hate About Blogging” and it prompted Mitchell Dillman to ask:
“Who ****** on your cornflakes buddy?”
So today, over a cup of Maxwell House coffee, I thought I would take a moment to be grateful for everything I love about blogging.
I hope that you’ll share some of the things you like about blogging too…
Here’s Eight Things You Gotta Love About Blogging
#1 Talking To Strangers
I’m amazed by “cool cat” readers this blog gets and it’s always a pleasure to meet somebody new. I don’t know about you, but I get downright excited when a new name pops up. I have to see what they’re all about.
#2 Pretending You’re Mother Teresa
I have nothing against Mother Teresa.
Actually, I think we should all follow her example and help people out…
But there’s no way you could help as many people out in person as you can through a blog. There’s only 24 hours in a day, but a single blog post can serve hundreds (if not thousands) of people an hour.
It can even change lives…
#3 She’s Really flexible
Let’s face it, a lot of people in network marketing are holding day jobs while they’re building their business. By the time they get home, it’s tough to schedule home parties, meetings, or even three way calls.
A blog can be built in 30 minutes a day even if you have to write early in the morning or late at night.
#4 I’m Addicted to Pee Dee
Yeah, I’m addicted to personal development…
Not a day goes by in blogging without learning something new about technology, writing, people, or social media. No book could teach you more about marketing and human behavior than having your very own blog.
Blogging is the ultimate playground for marketers and business owners.
Plus…
#5 It’s So Easy Ewoks Can Do It…
It wasn’t long ago that you had to know HTML, CSS or even PHP to run your own websites. Now, with blogging platforms like Wordpress, it’s almost easier to publish content to the web than it is to use Microsoft Word.
At least, I can’t seem to figure this so called “Word Processor” out. It keeps bugging me to activate my keycode… I just want to throw money at it to make it go away… but it keeps coming back.
Seriously, it’s giving me nightmares…
Damn you Bill Gates!
Anyway…
#6 Blogging Makes You Feel Like A Brainiac
When you learn how to install your first widget or theme, it’s an instant confidence boost. You feel like a blooming genius. Nuff said.
#7 It’s Better Than Building Pyramids
Don’t get me wrong, I think you should be loud and proud about being in Multi Level Marketing but it gets tiresome trying to explain yourself to every Tom, Dick, and Jane. So point them to your blog instead.
“I help people make money,” sounds slightly cooler than “I sell fruit juice.”
Or maybe, it’s just me? Hmmm…
#8 It Forces You To Write
If there’s one “magic skill” that will help you get everything you ever want in life (or network marketing) then it’s your ability to write copy that sells.
The thing is, you only get better at writing by writing!
It’s one of those “Catch 22″ things…
So, What Do You Love About Blogging?
How has it changed your life?
I’ll be looking forward to your comments today…
Talk soon,
Jason The “Better Networker”
- The Jason Better Blog
P.S. By the way, Mitchell actually said, “Who poured salt on your cornflakes buddy.” I wouldn’t want you to think that Mitchell was cursing on the Jason Better Blog, but that guy cracks me up.

Hey J
I love how 1 post can have a very varied response. Though this a lot can be learned, insight into left-brained people or vise versa if you are left-brained.
A blog forces you to let your inner creativity out as you construct new ways to appeal and engage an audience.
Meeting people is a massive plus.

Yes, I love the part about forcing you to write. Learning to write with influence and effectively only comes through practice.
Blogging is a super easy way to do that every day, and so is email to ones subscribers.

I love how spineless people think that it’s okay to post their nasty comments on your blog and they don’t even include their name or website address, so that people can see who they are.
Oh wait, that’s kind of a “What I Hate About Blogging” thing. Nevermind…
What I love about blogging is being able to post the TRUTH about a topic to benefit the majority, despite the fact that you may offend a few people.
Mike Dillard sets the bar high in this regard.

I love that you can easily make your blog
“YOUR OWN”
I dig butterflies…so I have butterflies.
If you dig Nascar you can have a race car
in your design.
If you dig flowers you can have petunias…
Heck…you can even be a CARTOON if you want to…
Right Jason???
It can be anything you want it to be and let people have a little insight into who you are
and what you are about…
OR
If you like…
NO insight into who you are at all…
Just hard cold content.
It’s all YOUR choice and THAT’S COOL!

I love meeting new people, I love the fact I don’t have to know code, and I love being creative.
I have a lot of fun thinking of creative ways to talk about potentially boring things.

Hey Listen Up,
Last June, when I told my wife I was gonna take a course on the computer that was gonna teach me how to set up a brand new business Online, she looked at me like I’d lost my mind…
I told her that this course was gonna teach me how to set up my own web site, introduce myself to others and stand out from the Online crowd with my very own “blog”. It was gonna teach me how to build a new future for myself using the power of the Internet…
That was the day I enrolled in Mike Dillard’s Live Traffic Formula 2.0 course and got introduced to guy’s like you and so many other truly stand out professionals in this industry.
That was the day my life changed in ways I never imagined possible…
I sincerely thank you for all you do.

Jason – great post.
What I love about blogging (I started just to write when I felt like it, now do it both for that and business)…
1. I get to be completely authentic in my own little internet space. If people resonate with that…boom, we’re connected.
2. I get a platform and no one can tell me to shut up. Well, they can, but I can choose not to listen.
3. I add to my brand every time I write.
4. Writing feeds my soul – it’s completely “something from nothing” creativity and I love it.
5. The best is what is going on here…dialogue about cool stuff with cool people…many of which who you didn’t know before.

Hey Jason,
I’m a fan of #2 & #8. I like how you can reach the masses with just a click of the mouse.
And #8. This was a tough one for me. I hated writing because I never had anything to write about. But the more I study and learn, the more I have to write about. Hmm. What a concept
I wish, however, someone would do a Wordpress webinar. It takes forever to find any answers on their forum and I still don’t understand a few things I want to incorporate into my blog to clean it up. I just might have to Google “wordpress webinar” unless someone has a link to a good webinar for this subject. hint hint wink wink
Thanks for your blog Jason. I’ve gotten a lot of helpful ideas from your blog and everybody’s participation.

As an aside, wud love to hear yr thots re “content vs keywords”, maybe in a future post. Hi Jason,
It’s interesting how most of your points are interconnected.
When you’re forced to write you need someting to write about, when you read a new book on personal development you want to share what you’ve learned to help others.
I never quite mastered HTML and now I don’t need to.
What’s really cool is when strangers start talking to you, at least that’s what I’ve heard.

I remember devouring a book on HTML

was how everybody used to do things.
As for strangers,
It’s one of the perks of blogging almost daily…
In a way it’s a momentum things. You reach a point
where the results come tumbling in.
Not always a result of pure genius… but sometimes
consistency comes to the rescue.

I think the most personal thing for me is.. It made me discover I had a voice. I can write about something that tickles me and that I can share something with others when I discover something for myself.
The one other thing that is incredibly delightful is.. when you have a question about something there is someone in the world that knew the answer and shared it without asking.
THAT IS COOL!

I love the fact that a blog opens up the door to an endless portal of knowledge. I can go from your blog and from the comments, learn about your readers and their styles and continuously meet new people, learn more about networking and the different marketers. This also can assist with coming up with new topics and learning all you need to know about blogging.
It has been cool since following your blog, the number of connections I’ve made and endless education I get from reading the entries from other blogs just because I enjoyed their comment and wanted to learn more about the person.
