Internet Marketing Made Easy…
Maybe I’m mistaken, but in my opinion, you only need to get two things right to start making money online. 1) Exposure 2) A Message.
Sure, it helps if you have a product or biz to sell, but it’s easy to join a new opportunity or find an affiliate product, so that’s the least of your worries.
But let’s break this down…
In My Opinion, Here’s The Easiest Way To Make Money Online…
#1 Massive Exposure
You need some way to expose a lot of people to your website, blog, recording, or whatever “sales pitch” or “marketing message” you’re currently using.
This could mean…
- Placing PPC Ads
- Search Engine Optimization
- Networking on Twitter
- Networking on Facebook
- Placing print Ads
- Picking up the phone
- Knocking on doors
Or whatever else floats your boat…
The point is, you don’t have to sell at this point, that’s the next step…
#2 A Convincing Message
You need a message that actually convinces people to join your team or at least try your products out. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
This could mean…
- A “sales letter”
- Audio Recording
- DVD Video
- Website or Blog
- A newsletter
- And so on…
We’re talking about words, so I’ll leave it to you to decide where you would like to put those words.
As long as your message converts at least some of the people you’re sending to it… I promise you will make money online…
It’s basic arithmetic!
Forgive me if I’m being basic but…
Success In Internet Marketing Is Nothing More Than…
(The Number of People “Exposed” To Your Message)
In a ratio with…
(The Number of People “Converted” By Your Message)
So if one hundred people read your message and two people buy then you know that on average 2% of the people you send to that message will put money in your pocket.
So that gives us a ratio 100:2
Which lets you predict how much money you will make if you send more people to your message…
200:4, 400:8, 800:16, and so on.
Now, those numbers might be boring, but what happens if you improve your conversions by using a better sales letter, recorded message, or video?
Imagine if you converted even 5% to 7% of the people who visited your blog into qualified leads!
You would never have to worry about leads again.
And assuming you converted some of those leads…
You would never have to worry about money again either.
This Is How The Experts Do It
They play with their numbers until they have a ratio that works for them.
So a network marketer who qualifies leads before he talks to them might close 10,15, or even 25% of the men and women they talk to. That’s 1 out of 4!
Honestly, in internet marketing it would be insane if you converted 25% of your traffic into actual sales. I hate to say it’s not even possible, but people are making money while converting less than 1%!
So if you’re wondering why “spammers” are still going strong, it’s because they know they need less that 0.05% response to make a profit.
Now, if they’re making a profit at 0.05%, what’s your excuse?
Are You Making Internet Marketing Harder Than It Has To Be?
It’s easy to get caught up in all the details, learning all the skills, but when it boils down you only need two things…
A way to get people to look at your message…
And a message worth looking at…
See you soon,

Wise words here my man. At first, when people are exposed to conducting network marketing on the internet, they just thing that they need to be some kind of guru in order to make things work.
You are right that those who really are successful using the internet simply “play with the numbers” until they get them to work for them.
The internet is such a leveraged way to get get your message in front of people, but there are other highly leveraged ways as well, like postcards, offline ads, etc.
Tracking and split testing different versions of your message along with various mediums to get your message out are absolutely essential.

Hey Jason,
Wow, good point about spammers converting! I often wonder why they even bother, I guess they have lost all self-respect and just play the numbers game 100%
You are right, play your numbers! But the right way. Whilst improving your ratios.
All you need to do is add a little value into the equation and stay focused on your numbers, and you can increase your odds and conversions considerably.
Thanks for the post.

Wayne,
I’m amazed that people even bother to spam
these days with so many easier ways to convert
traffic… boggles the mind… but still impressive from
a traffic standpoint.

Thanks for reminding us of the basics. I guess the spammers are making money if they convert at some percentage. Kind of feel like slapping myself on the head and saying a big fat, duh!

Hey Jason, Excellent training.
As I’ve learned from Jonathan Budd, Mark Hoverson, Mike Dillard etc…
The key is tracking your numbers and conversions…
split testing to see what’s working best…
and continuing this process to optimize your conversion rates and sales.
Keep learning and growing! David

SO SIMPLE YET EFFECTIVE, PHONES SALES ARE 1 TO 10 RATIO, MAKE 100 CALLS -10 CONTACTS +1 SALES, THAT’S IT, SIMPLE MATRIX …NOW IF INTERNET COULD CONVERT @ THAT PACE …WOW THE SKY’S THE LIMIT. I HAVE BEEN IN PHONE SALES FOR 10-YRS AND IT CARRIES ACROSS THE BOARD. EVEN IF YOU WERE TO PICK UP A PHONE BOOK IT HOLDS TRUE. INTERNET IS EASIER TO REACH MORE AND “PITCH” IN LESS TIME TO MORE PEOPLE. IT IS THE LAW OF AVERAGES LOVE YOUR ARTICLES KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Hey Jason,
Another Great post!!!
It’s always been a “law of numbers” game even before the internet.
I remember when I was involved in an MLM a few years back b4 the internet was big, there was a gentleman that started and his goal was to talk to 700 people in either 14 or 21 days and he did.
He never had to worry about money ever again.
Doesn’t matter what we do, the more numbers, the more responses and it’s so easy to reach 700 people nowadays with the internet. Heck, you can reach 7,000 with little effort.
Lovin Your Blog,

Hey Jason,
It’s easy to lose focus of how simple online marketing really is.
On top of getting traffic and making sales, getting repeat traffic and up sells is also a big thing that marketers lose focus on. Give me ten repeat customers over 100 new leads any day.

Hi, Ja’! Being different and being unique are two different things. We need not to change how we do business online by being different. If it works… leave it alone. Being unique means taking something that is already in place and adding a little touch of ‘YOU’ into the equation. It is nothing more than that!

Hi Jason,
Thanks for “KISSING” us so close to Valentine’s Day!
(Keep It Simple Stupid)
Simple is best, there’s no doubt about it.
But I also think you need to have a clear understanding of the whole process.
It’s like Picasso and his “child-like” art — he would have never gotten away with it if he hadn’t proved himself as a skilled painter before then.
He understood the rules he was breaking. Food for thought…

Derek,
Definitely.
And don’t forget that Picasso copied others
for years.
In fact, one of his sayings was
“Good artists copy, great artists steal.”
I hope he was just trying to make a point.
