After quite a bit of research, found that most people have the same disappointment too.

To base majority of your income on adsense it quite risky. Because if they for some reason decide to close your account, it threatens your income, where as with affiliates you can spread your eggs into several baskets.

Surfers too are becoming wiser and aware of google ads and therefore will eventually watch where they click.
