How To Get What You Want… Faster… With Marketing Psychology
Today, If you’re interested, I would like to share a few of my insights about human nature and four “mind bending” secrets you can use right away to make a little more money.
These are ethical ways to channel human nature and make other people feel good about themselves by treating them with honesty, respect and the human touch.
We’ll get started in a few minutes… because my stomach’s growling like a demon and I need to grab a snack. But I’ll be right back. I promise. And when I get back I’ll show you how this all ties in to our first “secret”…
Okay, I’m back.
And here’s our first “secret”…
1. The Human Touch: Notice how I told you I was hungry? I really was, so I went out and grabbed a quick bite to eat. Through the magic of writing it only took a split second and I could have edited that out completely and you’d never know, right?
Right.
So why did I leave it in? Because it’s gives life to my writing. It’s the personal element. It let’s you know that I’m a human being just like you. I eat, sleep and… everything else.
It’s one of the biggest secrets to marketing online. Everyone is pumping out content but they’re afraid to be human. So they sound like robots… and people hate robots. Don’t you agree?
So next time you write anything or say anything in a video… don’t be afraid to get personal and be a human being. You’ll be surprised at the difference it makes.
2. Vanity Fair: You’re clever you could probably figure this one out for yourself. But I’ll tell you anyway… You want to appeal to the ego. Give more compliments. You know, “you’re clever so you could…” Well, that’s another psychological trigger that’s largely ignored these days. But it makes an almost magical difference in results.
But it’s so much more than flattery. It’s the root of human nature. One of the most powerful motivators of all. In one word — Vanity.
Dictionary.com defines vanity as:
“Excessive pride in one’s appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.; character or quality of being vain; conceit:”
Let’s face it, when we’re shown a family photograph the first face we look at is our own. When people are shown a map, the first place they look is their home town. It’s human nature.
So if it’s results you want then appeal to the ego every time. Subtly.
3. Almost Magical: Now, you’re probably wondering what other psychological “tricks” I’ve got up my sleeve. So I’ll reveal another.
You may have noticed I tend to “understate” things a bit.
Instead of saying “AMAZING” I’ll say “almost magical.”
Instead of saying “THE BEST WAY” I’ll say “one of the best ways…”
And there’s a good reason for it.
It’s because people are skeptical.
You can’t get away with crazy claims like the old days.
Don’t believe me? Well, there’s an old story about a guy in London handing out $5 dollar bills… almost nobody would take one. They didn’t believe him either.
It’s something to think about.
4. High Esteem: Now here’s a flaw of human nature that almost nobody fully appreciates. It’s not sexy enough to make headlines. It doesn’t get any of the credit it’s due. But can you guess what it is?
Don’t worry, I’ll tell you…
It’s appreciation!
Again we’re in ego territory and it’s a powerful place to be.
Because, you can go miles on the power of this motivator alone as long as you’re honest and sincere.
Ego, is the unsung hero of a great many fortunes and success stories. Give it the attention it deserves and you’ll find that doors open everywhere.
And it’s easy to use too.
All you have to do is let people know when you admire them. Be grateful. If you like something… say so. If you hate something… well… as my mother used to say…
“If you don’t have anything good to say keep your trap shut!”
Or something like that…
Anyway, you know when you’re having so much fun that time flies? Well I really enjoyed our time together but I gotta hit the road.
I hope you found today’s post useful and if you did… be sure to let me know by leaving a comment below. I’d appreciate it.

One more thing. Just curious as to when the gates will open again to apply for the Association of Betternetworkers Seal. I have been a part of the BN community since its inception and somehow, I missed the opportunity to get it.

Hey Jason.
YOur blog posts alwas go great with a cup of Java in my morning routine. There are days that it doesn’t fit in.. and I miss it.
Then there are days like today that are cloudy and spooky with a tone of fog (mind and weather) and brilliance like this clears up writing styles for me.
Thanks ever so much for your guidance!
