Nerve Center: 7-Ways To Drive Even More Traffic To Your Blog…

Nerve Center Traffic TipsIf you want to drive a little more traffic to your blog or “nerve center” without spending a load of cash then you’ll love today’s post. Some of these methods are pretty standard but a few are a little off the beaten path.

What they all have in common is that THEY WORK. I’ve either used them myself or know people who use them too. But fair warning, these traffic tips aren’t all as sexy as Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn.

7-Ways To Drive More Web Traffic To Your “Nerve Center” Or Blog…

Guest Blogging. I happen to know a few bloggers who drive a lot of their traffic through guest blogging. They ask other bloggers to post for them and in exchange they’ll do the same for them. It’s kinda like a traffic exchange. It’s simple and it works.

Tagging. This might sound a little basic, but I’m guilty of it too. Forgetting to tag your blog posts. When you tag your blog posts with relevant tags… it helps with SEO and social bookmarking too. So it’s definitely worth thinking about.

Set-Up your RSS. It stands for Really Simple Syndication. And it let’s you (or your readers) access updates or blog posts, from one location using a desk-top or web based reader. A lot of people ignore it entirely… and lose out on a lot of free web traffic. Big mistake.

Tweak SEO. Listen, this isn’t exactly new… but a little SEO goes a long way. So see if there’s some way to tweak your headlines for SEO keywords. Learn a bit about “meta tags”. And see what you can do. It’s not as scary as it sounds.

Review Products. I think you’ll be amazed by the traffic you can drive by writing product reviews. So if you’re a big reader, by all means, help people out by writing reviews. I’m still ranked number three on Google for a big name guru… all because of a review I wrote over a year ago.

Link hunt. Take an hour some day and hunt for your links. Look at your profiles on social media sites. Your posts, articles, and videos. Make sure your links are current and above all… make sure they work. I don’t know how many times I’ve come across one of my own broken links. :-(

Tweak Images. This is basically SEO but take a day and go through your image titles. Make sure they relate to your headline and your key words. This little boost in traffic can make a big difference if you blog everyday. And in the end, a lot of little things add-up to big results.

Plus two more traffic tips… these are pretty basic but I’d feel silly if I didn’t recommend them. If you’re already doing one or both, I know you’ll forgive me for bringing them up. :-)

Daily E-mails. You’ll notice a dramatic increase in your web traffic if you send out a daily e-mail. And while it all depends on the size of your list it’s an easy way to pump life into your blog day in and out.

(Or if you find yourself pressed for time…)

Autoresponder Series. Some clever bloggers don’t have time to send out daily e-mails so they write e-mails ahead of time and schedule them. True, it’s mostly going to be repeat traffic… but it helps you build a relationship with your list.

With that said… I’d really like to know is what you do to drive traffic to your blog. What methods do you use most? Article marketing, Press Releases, or maybe Twitter?

I’m curious.

P.S. One more tip. You’d be amazed by how much extra traffic you can get by adding a little green “retweet” button and asking people to share your posts on Twitter.
