Swine Flu And The Real Secret Of Network Marketing Success…
Would you believe I was sick as a pig all of last week? No kidding. I was practically bed ridden… fevers for three of those days. Couldn’t eat and could barely stand up much less write… even lost my voice.
And you probably didn’t even notice…
Because in business there are no sick days. There are no days off. Every minute you rest is a minute your competitors are out making money. So if you’re wondering how you can get 5 blog posts written, 3 articles, and 7 e-mails sent out while you sweat out a fever… I’ll let you in on my little secret…
Here it is…
When you feel it coming… flu… or illness of any kind. Hit warp speed. I mean it. Write a weeks worth of articles in a day. Do whatever it takes to get ahead. Because tomorrow doesn’t exist for you.
Hit warp-speed…
I know this sounds extreme… but you really don’t know how much you can get done in a single day until you’re desperate. And the flu kinda does that to you. It gives you a strict deadline and that’s it. You don’t ever know how long you’ll be sick. But you do know it’s not gonna be fun.
And you already know that business doesn’t take a day off. Sure, you could slack a bit, but time is money. One day turns into one week and before you know it you’re in the graveyard of “wannabes”.
Now, if you’re thinking “this sucks” it’s because it does. Business isn’t easy. Maybe someday you’ll be successful enough to delegate the little details. Everything will run on auto-pilot and you can take a month off without losing your business… until then…
Here’s a few productivity tips for when you know you’re gonna be hanging over a bucket soon…
• Write and schedule e-mails ahead of time.
• Write articles and save blog post drafts in advance.
• Answer all of your e-mails at a pre-scheduled time.
• And you’re gonna hate this one but… work harder!
Yeah, I know you work hard.
But you’re not at your limits yet. Almost nobody is. And there’s no doubt in my mind that the average person can work miracles if they push themselves through the self-imposed limits they set and just work harder.
You know, the unsung secret of success is “work” and nobody wants to hear it. So work harder, faster, and more. Because if you don’t… your competitors almost certainly will.
Only then should you collapse…
Drug yourself up with your doctor’s recommended flu medicine and sleep as long as you can manage. Forget the world. Grow strong and come back better than ever.
And you know what?
After you get a week’s worth of work done in a single day… you kinda know those limits you set on yourself are nothing more than excuses.
You’ll feel like a million bucks.
Because you never really know what you can do until life throws you a curve ball and hit’s you right between the eyes.
Till tomorrow… here’s wishing you good health.

Jason…so glad to hear that you are feeling better. You are right…unless you told me..there is no way that I would have known you were ill.
Good point about working with your hair on fire every day..or getting ready to go on vacation for a couple of weeks..or coming down with the flu…the amount that can be accomplished with focus and determination is HUGE.
Folks talk about AOMA all the time…you gave a living, breathing example of what that looks like in practice. You also provided some great actionable steps for anyone that is looking to jump start themselves to finish this year strong..
Feel better my friend..YOU are an inspiration !!

Yes. Well part of that is because
I wrote most while I was still
healthy. Got to think a head.
Feeling great now.

Hey buddy, you are the man!
You were plugging away last week like you had the world by the tail. Way to go…
I have to say I am sick in a different way. A broken heart with a hole in my soul…
My wife and I watched today as our best friend of 13+ years took his last, peaceful breath….;(
I will press on. Go read this amazing story of life and death (change) over at my blog.
I just had to share, writing is quickly becoming my outlet.
Thank you my friend for all you do.
Sincerely,
Mitchell Dillman

I don’t think we’re ever ready
for it when it happens. Angus reminds
me of a my childhood companion. A
little springer spaniel who got hit by
a truck in front of me.
But I agree, writing is therapy.
