How To Use Urgency To Get More Network Marketing Leads…
URGENCY. It’s one of the most powerful weapons in internet marketing. And it’s all about harnessing the power behind “fear of loss” by giving your prospects a reason to act right now instead of tomorrow or never.
Because DELAY is the fastest way to kill sales…
I’m sure you already know, when it comes to internet marketing, there’s no such thing as tomorrow or next time. So I thought, we could take a look at how business owners are using urgency or scarcity to get more sales, more leads and more opt-ins today.
How To Use Urgency To Get More Network Marketing Leads:
Live Events
One of the easiest ways to inject a sense of urgency into your offers is to make them live. A live event obviously can’t be repeated… so it has a certain value to it that other offers can’t duplicate.
Of course this means you’ll sign-up more people than if you give the recording away and it helps you qualify prospects before they waste your time.
• Interviews
• Teleseminars
• Webinars
• Seminars
Are all great ways to do this…
Time Sensitive Offers
Another way to do it is to put a time limit on every offer you have. This is why product launches work so well. After they’re over you can’t buy what they have to sell anymore. You have to wait for the next version… buy now… or forever miss out.
Fast Action Bonuses
One easy way to drive up the value of an offer is to add a free bonus to the deal. Your offer is more important than anything you could write about your product or opportunity. So find something your market loves and bundle it with whatever you want them to do… be sure to tell them… “only if you act by such and such time.” and stick to your word.
Bonuses are the ideal tool for network marketers in highly regulated industries like diet pills… or vitamins. Especially if you’re giving away books, which in most cases are protected by “freedom of speech”.
Limited Supply
Yet another way to do this is the old “limited supply” game. We only have so many copies. We only have sooo many seats. And as long as it’s true… it works like a charm. People can smell a fake miles away.
In fact, here’s two popular examples that are faked so often they almost get ridiculous…
“Fire & Damage” Sales
No doubt you’ve heard of these. It’s when a store suffered fire or flood damage and they have to clear out their stock. Of course, there’s only a limited supply of damaged goods… so you have to act fast. The problem is, I know a few stores that have been selling “damaged goods” for more years than I can count.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering how you can apply this to network marketing… I’ve seen this used with information products too. Which is basically what a “funded proposal” is. As long as you’re honest about it… you can turn a disaster into more sales on a dime.
“Going Out Of Business” Sales
Another variation of the game is the old “going out of business sale”. You probably know all about these. In a lot of cities there’s laws preventing businesses from doing this all year round because sometimes a going out of business sale is the most profitable sale a business can make. It puts a time limit on everything and gives a “reason why”.
Reason Why Advertising
Above all, you must always give a reason why your readers have to act now if you hope to get any response at all. This is called “reason why advertising” and it’s one of the oldest copywriting secrets. Perhaps, one of the most valuable because it makes even stone-cold skeptics believe what you say.
The Price Is Right
The higher the price the more valuable and rare it must be. It makes sense, right? Besides the fact that it’s not always a good measure of value… raising the prices or your products or services (if you have control of that) can paradoxically lead to more sales. Especially if you were selling too low in the first place.
Honesty Is The ONLY Policy
Yeah, I know a lot of so-called “gurus” are telling their pupils to lie about scarcity but this is gonna hurt your business and reputation in the long run. You do need a sense of urgency to get sales, but lies are not the way to create urgency or scarcity.
The Secret Of The Successful Recruiter
You know, if you get really good at what you do… you won’t have to lie about scarcity. You’ll be so busy that your time and value really will shoot through the roof. People will have to buy from you on the spot when you have something to sell or wait in line for the next time you come around.
It’s why successful recruiters continue to be more successful… you know they’re good… and you want to be a part of their team. They have what you want.
But You Know What?
I totally missed something here. If you have any more examples of scarcity or urgency at work then please tell me about them today. Show the world that you’re a marketing genius… put me to shame.
Talk to you soon,

Hey listen Jason,
I’ve got to make this quick…I just heard about a special deal on a new pair of skis I’ve had my eye on.
Looks like they had a pipe freeze up at their warehouse which has prompted them to reduce the price on the already limited supply, so they can clean up the mess. It seems as if they’ve decided to further discount the skis for the first 25 folks that attend a live demonstration which they were already planning as an announcement for a special limited time going out of business offer…
Thanks for this article…I gotta go, these guys have always been up front with me and they’re serious about this great deal, I Just can’t pass it up. Breckenridge just got 32″ of new snow and I gotta ski Man!
Later,
Mitchell Dillman

I’ve found that a lot of gurus out there have been using the live webinar to create urgency. The limited seating/first come first “threat” is what gets me…I think it is a brilliant marketing tactic (as long as it has some truth to it).
If anyone is interested in some free tools to creating your own live webinar, I highly recommend the following:
1. Twitcam.com: Live video broadcasting over Twitter.
2. Livestream.com: Live video broadcasting. They even provide you with the embed code so the live video appears on your own blog
3. DimDim.com: Allows you to share presentations, whiteboards, webpages, video, and audio.
The best part about all of these tools is that they do not require you to download any software and they are absolutely free.
Cheers,
Hani

Hey Hani,
Yeah, I’ve noticed the same too. A few
or the big names are making a killing
with them. I even know of one who runs
his entire business on them.
Crazy. But highly effective, easy, and
affordable too.

I think it’s extremely effective when people give a time limit on the price. Like, “This price will be doubled by such-and-such date.”

My favorite ad I had ever seen was:
“going out FOR business” Makes you automatically think they are going out OF business but I think it was quite amazing because they weren’t fibbing.. they were going out and looking for business.
Cool!

Good day Rebecca.
That must have stopped a few
people. I’d be a little worried that
people would think I was desperate
or something though…
With a sign like that.
Very interesting.
